The last three issue mini series finished, there is an online comic and they announced another three issue mini series about Shepard Book. Maybe with enough comics it will makeup for Fox canceling the show.

I've read a few of the firefly comics and I was a little disappointed. The art seemed kind of dull and uninspired especially when compared to the Buffy comics. I think the ones I read were early in the series, so maybe they've gotten better?

I like the firefly 'verse and I'd love to know more of the characters' stories, though, so maybe I should give it another shot. Is there a mini-series that's particularly recommended?

The only published Firefly/Serenity I know of are the pre-movie store which I hated, the mini-series which just finished on the online comic.

I didn't like the pre-movie comic because it felt disjointed and all over the place. It was probably an editing issue since there were also spelling mistakes.

The online comic was a short chase story, whatever.

I liked the first two issues of the last mini-series, but someone was totally lost by the third issue. The story seemed to skip a bunch of events between issues. One of the things I liked about this series was the pacing and energy of the story.

This mini-series came out when I was frustrated with the other Joss Whedon comics. The Buffy and Angel stories don't translate well from TV, scenes would happen too fast and you couldn't get a decent story out of them. Plus the writers seem bored with the universe and stories they're telling.

The Buffy artist is really good at drawing the charters in ways that don't feel flat and trace papered.
