The moral of the story is that if you're the first to throw stones on an internet forum, karma decrees that you will get copyedited in return. Wink

And just to make Luke feel worse about himself:

PS - Meredith, It's Kismet, not Karma. Karma only applies to things that happen after your death. Kismet is your good/bad deeds affecting your current life. GAWD. Nobody knows ANYTHING on this board!!!

By the way, this movie is excellent and fabulous and everyone should see it immediately. It's the best movie I have seen so far this year. Of course, that's not saying much since movies in 2005 have generally sucked.
But this one was great regardless of temporal context. Also, it was surprisingly dirty.

Yes, it did rock, and yes, the number of dirty jokes was kind of surprising. They're subtle enough that kids wouldn't get them, but since they didn't have anything like that in any of the other Wallace and Gromit films, it was just shocking. And hilarious.

It was a very funny movie. There were some mildly disconcerting departures from the previous movies, such as the sexual innuendo and other rude humor. Art direction on the supporting characters seemed a little different, and I think it's a departure to not play the Wallace and Grommit theme during the opening and closing credits, though I may be wrong. All in all, it seemed as if Nick Park was either bored and wanted to do stuff differently, or so busy that he had to farm out some of the decision-making to someone else. None of this impacted the movie negatively, as I said, but it was a little unexpected and disconcerting.

I was listening to some kind of interview thing somewhere, and it sounded like he was having an interesting time trying to adapt his dynamic duo to the large screen. He wanted to branch out a little bit, but still have it be Wallace and Grommit. He mentioned being proud of what they'd become, especially since they originated as an idle thought during his college days.

Apparently the warehouse for Aardman Animations burned down today. They lost all the props and sets for basically all of the shorts they've ever done, although the sets and props for the new W&G movie were in another warehouse, so they survived.

That is sad. Sad

Nick Park seems to be taking it well though.

It's an awful thing...
My paranoia whispers to me that it was Disney that set the fire. Maybe they were so burned (*koff*) by the success of this movie, especially since it's now #1 in the box office, that they torched the place out of pure spite, rather than admitting to themselves that their movies have sucked big-time for, like, ages now.
I mean...A western set in a farm pasture? With humorous cows? Come on, people.

A new Wallace and Gromit short was released in the UK and Australia in December -
http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/films/loafanddeath/about.html

Unfortunately, American IPs can't see the trailer (i scoured youtube as well) but that's what makes bittorrents useful. I should have it downloaded in 3 hours, I can let you know what I think.
