So although not a comic book fan I've watched a bunch of superhero movies. I had to smirk a bit when I read that Wolverine has been Americanized what with Americans apparently only watching movies about other Americans (excepting James Bond, because nobody that debonair can credibly have an American accent). (Wolverine was a Canadian X-Man).
It got me to thinking: are there any comics which claim randomly distributed superheroes or similarly powerful beings (due to X-men style mutation or whatever) which actually have nearly half of them being Indian and Chinese, and the US having maybe 1 in 20? |

xkcd touched on a similar topic in a moderately recent comic.

The only one I can think of was Excalibur, and that was pretty much all-European. Colossus was kept Russian in the movies, too, but that's it. Halle Berry's Storm has been Americanized too. Outside of the X-men, it's pretty USA. Even Thor has an American alter-ego. I never really read DC, maybe there's something there?
India doesn't have much of a comic book tradition (what with atleast half of the population being functionally illiterate) but they do have Amar Chitra Katha which puts folk tales, legends and religious stories into comic form (Just the Mahabaratha and Ramayana can fill a bookshelf.) If you've got thousands of gods in an extremely religious culture, there's no need for superheroes. _________________ "Yes kids, we lied to you about Santa, but trust us, Jesus is real"

DC has the Great Ten from China, but I they're a relatively recent invention. Incidentally, their names would all fit in Exalted just fine.
There has been a Justice League Europe (sometimes called La Fraternité de Justice et Liberté) and a Justice League International from time to time.
Russia had (has?) the Rocket Red Brigade. _________________ I demand a better future. |

Yeah, well. What with China becoming the global economic power it's becoming, maybe the Yellow Peril is back in style or something. _________________ I demand a better future. |

Well it's not too different than what SHIELD has tried to do from time to time. _________________ "Yes kids, we lied to you about Santa, but trust us, Jesus is real"

OK that is an awesome site. It has links to all those old cartoons I used to watch as a kid. Rescue Rangers, Captain Harlock, Galtar... Nice explanations of different TV Stereotypes and character gags.

| US comics are generally US. Wildstorm had Stormwatch the UN team, but the leaders were generally American. There was also the yellow peril and Islamic radical themes. At one point Authority did depose the US government for being jerks. |
