Would you guys post synopses about your characters? I'm having a hard time remembering some of their names. Embarassed
Also, they're all neat character ideas. Mr. Green

I'll get things rolling:

Name: Gyrrrbizzz Durrrrzzz, aka Waspina, aka The Sting
Race: Draezzzgy (second generation Alien Wasp American)
Likes: music, dance, Mythbusters, Popular Mechanics.
Dislikes: always being told what to do by Mom, 43 aunts and uncles, and the MIB. And swimming.
Powers: flight, stinging (limited but powerful shots), wall crawling, tough rubbery exoskeleton, and can pick up various sounds and frequencies on her antennae.
Status: currently grounded for wearing too much exoskeleton paint. Using the down time to try to make antenna-compatible headphones for the iPod.

Coolness.

Samuel "Holo" Hammilton is the only son of Sandra and Paul Hammilton (A.K.A. Stormfront and Photon). He was enrolled in classes but missed the first week of school due to an illness. His parents were recently in an accident which briefly showed on the news and have since gone into semi retirement to spend more time with their son.

Phaser was a nickname given to him by his father, the famous crime fighting illusionist Photon, for his ability to make hard light projections which look sound and feel real. His mother, Weather controlling Stormfront, says that he combines the best of her elemental control abilities with her husband's illusion abilities, allowing him to change the phase state of light to make the perfect illusion. It appears he can also make copies of himself using this technique. They are very strong and quite adaptive. He is an extraordinarily bright young kid, at the age of 14 already is fluent in three languages, English, French, and Draezzzgy. However he hasn't been holding up under high stress situations very well lately. His parents have been visiting regularly since his enrollment to help him out. He is quiet and withdrawn most of the time, seeking out the company of teachers more often than other students. In particular he gets along very well with his language teacher who is an old friend of the family.

<edit> I've changed My character's Super name to Holo because it makes more sense with his holographic powers which have now been revealed. </edit>

When people meet Charles Sidonius they often think of his father, Dr. Alessio Sidonius of Sidonius Solutions, who is one of the great minds of our generation. It's not entirely unjustified, since despite some modifications to his appearance he's secretly his father's clone.

Dr. Sidonius isn't the kind to leave things up to chance, or to the vagaries of women. He made sure to reproduce the right way, to create a son even more brilliant than himself. No pressure. Actually, not much pressure, because Dr. Sidonius isn't the kind of take time off to raise a child. Charles was raised by nannies and tutors. This seemed fine to the boy who preferred the company of machines to people. Not that he was spiteful or antisocial, although he's been encouraged to be a giant nerd. He was too smart for the kids, but got treated like a kid by the adults. His favorite time is when he can find an empty spot in one of his father's many labs and play around.

Charles is a techical prodigy, just like "dad". He is, however, constantly frustrated that he can only get at the best lab equipment after hours or on slow days and has to scrounge for the more expensive parts. Recently his father decided he should attend high school for kids with superpowers, to meet the right crowd and make the right connections. The small problem that Charles didn't have any powers was solved by giving him the Force Amplification Projector, one of his father's spare prototypes. A metal cylinder the size of a cookie, the FAP (which Charles calls the "Impulse Field" to avoid labeling is as a device) must touch the wearer's skin. It establishes a link with Charles' mind and allows him to apply tremendous telekinetic force to nearby solid objects. The FAP can also erect a force field, either as a sphere or following the contours of Charles' body. When the FAP is being used to move something, it can interferes with radar, cell phones, GPS, wireless networks, and similar devices. It's mildly warm. Charles wears it on a tight belt aroung his thigh.

Since he gained his "powers" far more recently than the other students (a couple of months ago), Charles is fascinated by them and by the fact that he's joined the super club. Although he's never used it, he decided his alter-ego name should be "Delta V". The idea of a gaudy costume is right out, though - he's into more anonymous black clothes and masks inspired by computer games. He's used to hiding - Charles has been a very bad boy. Whenever Sidonius Solutions didn't have access to an advanced piece of technology, he would use his hacking skills to steal it from other companies. Dr. Sidonius could only do so much about those kinds of charges, and Charles relies on remaining hidden. This is one of Dr. Sidonius' great disappointments - Charles has every bit of the intellect he expected, but he takes serious risks rather than pursuing his goals efficiently.

In risky situations, Charles is prepared by his knowledge of gadgetry. He uses relatively mundane technology to record everything his sophisticated goggles or his telekinetically guided spy cameras see, and upload it to the web via the cellular network. He believes that the man behind the camera can have a serious advantage, especially in avoiding the wrath of the Directive.

Cailan O'banan is about normal height for his age, maybe a little bit taller than (5'6-5'7' for a male freshmen? I don't really remember). He's not doughy but he's not a stick, nor too muscly (body four). He has an unbrushed clump of dull red hair, no glasses, freckles, and somewhat pale skin. Rounded cheeks but not a rounded head, a soft nose, and steel-grey eyes.

Btw, Does our school have uniforms? If so he can usually be seen sporting a baggy set of the school uniform, if not he wears somewhat baggie sweaters and hoodies, with unpleated straight leg khakis.

His powers are linked to the electromagnetic field, primarily a telekinetic control of a quantum mechanical force which underlies magnetism (which is how he can control any metal, not just ferromagnetic ones). Although focused on the control of metal, he does have a weak connection to the entirety of the electromagnetic spectrum, which allows him to read radio and cell phone waves, scan computers, and control technological devices.

Despite his interest in technology, Cailan has invested little time in the mundane operation of computers and technical devices, and has a lay understanding of them from an analog perspective. So although he can read and control a computer with his mind, he is little more competent to 'hack' a computer than the next student without use of his powers, nor can he design or build technical devices.

Cailan is not a fighter by nature, and since he grew up keeping his powers a secret, he never planned to become a superhero and so has no training in how to use his powers for combat, and is learning as he goes how to hold his own in a fight.

Neither of Cailan's parents have any sort of superpowers, his father is a district attorney and his mother is a librarian. Although Cailan has known about his powers pretty much since he first started playing with blocks and sticks and such, he was also aware that no one else was like him and so he's kept his powers a secret from his friends and parents until middle school, not knowing how people would react.

He's always seemed very distractable because he's constantly aware of the minutiae of the electromagnetic fields around him - for example, as a toddler, he would spend hours playing with light switches, or sometimes just staring at them, fascinated by the elegance of their simplicity.

I should probably lower his skill levels in physics and chemistry and such given what I was told about the levels they represent, but he does have a profound understanding of physics and solid-state chemistry, if no real academic or wordy understanding. A good, well qualified, science teacher would probably have deep respect for his faculties, but his lack of formal understanding or lexicon would probably still frustrate any teacher, and poor educators would simply see him as an idiot.

He doesn't speak loudly or go looking for trouble but he is adventurous at heart and is happy to try something new or dangerous, as long as it sounds more interesting than whatever he's doing at the moment.

Cailan has been very excited to attend PS239 and meet others like him (BTW did government agents find and recruit us? or owls? How did we get invited to PS239?) , but at the same time he's worried he'll still be different, or that other kids will understand their powers better, etc, and he's still uncomfortable with the idea of publicly displaying his powers.

I want to recap what's happened, mostly so I don't forget. Forgive me if I missed something.

Initially the faculty were keyed up after principal Dark Waters warned them of the possible Haud resurgence. But after weeks of emergency meetings they've become to believe he's crying wolf. The rest of the students have also begun sharing this lassitude. The weather has turned cold and people are all acting sleepy. Something everyone has energy to for has been complaining about last weeks lunches were less than their usual quality. Things are improving this week and everything seems to be getting back to normal. But the lunches hav.e more sodium than is probably healthy

Our fellow students however have been more and more paranoid about the Haud and haven't stopped investigating.

Charles and Marvin did not come to school this week.

On the way to class Holo saw the new student Edward walking to class. He followed him to school where he saw Ed take up his staff. A magical energy surrounded him and he was cloaked him in robes of the Order of Orden. His eyes were bound by a blindfold but he walked without hesitation onto the grounds. Holo discovered Edward while blinded could see the area around him but couldn't see his projections. Thought out the day he had some fun playing practical jokes on Ed.

After class Holo using one of his projections disguised as some of his math teacher's hair (don't ask) decided to listen into one of the Teachers meetings. At the same time he projected the conversation to the others in the gym on one of the wide screen TVs. Unfortunately he didn't project the sound. The staff seemed bored and glassy eyed as Dark Waters went over proper evacuation protocol to protect the students from a Haud attack.

Afterwords Waters left quickly with Professor Wolf to discuss some side project and the Wrestling Coach took over. He talked to the staff who became more animated and alert and discussed the impending games of the professional athletes verses the students. Only a few more days!

The next day Charles and Marvin were not at class still. The gang decides to follow Waters at recess. He stops during to check in with Professor Wolf. Holo spys on him as a cockroach while the others are outside and overhears Wolf complain that some chemicals are missing from the lab. Including a powerful chemical (XRD?) which can transfers chemicals directly into the blood.

Hiding under another of Holo's projections they watch Waters exit the lab. He stops and comments how someone was in his office last week looking at the students files. He's looking directly into the gangs eyes as he says this.

After lunch Waspina sneaks up to the principals office and listens into a phone conversation he has with Wolf using her ultrasonic hearing. There is a device which will be completed for him in one hour.

They contact Charles and ask him to analyze some of the cafeteria lunches. He refuses to meet them directly but has them drop off some of it for analysis at a dead drop location and has a remote control droid pick it up. Superscience elitist!

They plan on sneaking into Waters office during Math class. Holo once again using his projections. He creates an illusion that the students are all still sitting in their seats while they sneak out. This time it works perfectly, he even takes excellent notes for them all.

Breaking into the office using O'Banan's electromagnetic powers they search his office. They find two things. One that Marvin's absence is unexcused. The other is a safe under Water's desk. Using Pipa's kung fu to resonate the safe and Waspina's ultrasonic hearing they determine that there is a single piece of paper in the safe. Once again O'Banan proves an expert safe cracker with his powers and they find another letter from Frau Totenkeinder. It tells them that it is not for them and they should put it back. Edward walking to the bathroom see's through Holo's screen and tells warns them that the principle is coming back.

With this information they return to class and agree to start looking for Marvin after school. Because they believe he might be in Asgard they ask Marvin, obviously a Magician, if he can contact the gods and ask. He tells them he believe he knows a ritual for summoning a Viking from Valhalla and could ask if Marvin is there.

First they search his home, his mother isn't home so they break in to look for clues. He hasn't been home for two days by the look of things. They do however find his phone which has an urgent text from Charles. He tells Marvin to not trust anyone, the Haud is a human hybrid.

Now really worried they call Charles and tell him that Marvin has been missing. He's evasive at first agreeing to only talk to Holo since he is the only one of them who hasn't eaten from the cafeteria. He says there is something in the food and he needs to get them all his antidote. Holo inspects the group and they are all unchanged so they believe they are safe.

Searching around Marvins' house and then spreading out along the way to school. Instead of finding Marvin they find Edward walking home from shopping with his arms full of occult supplies.

While asking him how things were going his staff begins to glow red. He warns them evil is nearby. Holo warns Edward to run, but he won't leave while evil is around. As they prepare for a stand off with some evil hiding in the shadows.

The evil slinks away before they can confront it. Everyone breaths a sigh of relief and goes home for the night.

Edward calls the gang after midnight and tells them that Marvin isn't in Valhalla.

Where could he be?

"It's Marvin, sir." Mr. Green

I think this is officially a running joke. Bummed I couldn't make it. Sounds like it was a fun one.

Ironically, while I was missing this someone said "hey do we have to always have the book club Thursday, what about Wednesday?" and apparently nobody cared so it's Wednesdays now.
